When it comes to making money online, one of the ways I recommend that new people get started is by affiliate marketing. 

As far as I'm concerned, it teaches you the essential skills you need to learn about making money online without all the added headaches that having your own products create. 

Before I get too far into this discussion, let me say that a couple products I'd recommend looking into before you get started are Google Nemesis and SEO For Affiliates - they're very (VERY) different animals, but both can help you start bringing in cash quickly.

Good marketers are good at selling stuff. 

You can make really good products but if you have no way of getting people to buy them and don't have any way to get the word out about them, well then there's really no point.

When you're an affiliate marketer you usually get to start with a good product and frequently it comes with a pretty good salesletter, so all you really need to do is build the relationship with the visitor to get them to click on your link so they go buy the product. 

Once you get good at selling other peoples' products, then it's time to start adding your own products to the fold, just remember to use good marketing practices with your product - and of course, offer a good commission so you can attract your own arm of affiliates.
